Executive Summary - W.L. Gore & Associates
W.L. Gore & Associates is an American manufacturing company specializing in four main areas: electronics, fabrics, industrial and medical products. Their IT staff found that they were unable to accurately monitor and manage resource utilization within their infrastructure landscape. As a result, they typically erred on the side of caution by over-allocating computing resources, meaning they failed to deliver the expected cost savings.

The Challenge

  • Lack of visibility into operational status of physical environment

The Solution
This server virtualization was based on VMware vSphere. The project successfully consolidated several physical servers, significantly decreasing the footprint and energy consumption of the data Centre. At the same time, it also virtualized the database servers underpinning various essential services provided to W.L. Gore.

Executive Summary
- Golden Source
GoldenSource is a is a global software company in the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) supporting the enterprise data lifecycle of  major financial institutions globally. They were hounded by unreliable backup and recovery of heavily virtualized environment creating risk and additional administrative overhead

The Challenge
Inability to analyze and classify data led to retention of old, stale and redundant data whilst Tape-based retention and recovery was cumbersome, costly and unreliable . To support its large customer base, GoldenSource wanted to streamline data protection for its physical and virtualized evironments and the latest operating systems workloads across the enterprise

The Solution
The company upgraded to Commvault Simpana to gain new compatibility and unify physical and virtual backups managing backups, restores, archives and reporting all from a single management console thus making a big difference.

    and granular files within them from a single-pass backup
  • Ability to recover more current versions with daily virtual server image backups

Executive Summary
OMCI is a Ship management company having diversified in all aspects of ship management activities managing a fleet of oil tankers, chemical tankers, bulk carriers and dredgers.
The company services installations and manages processes across multiple industries, with a focus on Oil & Gas, Offshore Construction and Marine Industries.

The Challenge
In order to run and operate the business, it had become essential for staff and associates to have online access to messaging, documents and to collaborate over content when required. The legacy on-premise MS Exchange was unsuited to the demands of the business and had the potential to limit productivity.  A flexible and cost effective solution was required to support the business' rapid growth.

The Solution
Resonance proposed a hybrid solution which involved extending the corporate website to external users as well as using Google Apps for Business to provide email, shared calendar and general document sharing and collaboration.

The implementation has proved highly successful. The team collaborate over vital documents, share calendars and access email remotely, without the need for expensive in-house technology and associated support costs. The business is now executing its growth plans utilizing the new scalability of its systems and processes.

  • Easier remote access - With Google Apps, employees were able to access their information from any computer with an internet connection, as well as from their mobile phones.
  • Expanded storage - With Google, employees had 25x the email storage they had initially, saving them from having to make difficult decisions about which emails to keep or delete.
